Howdi,
Any of you guys managed to get an HP usb Scanner working on either an S10 or a V10L?
I have looked through the WYSE supported peripherals list but there are no scanners listed at all. So I was hoping one of you fellow monkeys have been in the same situ b4 ❓
If so which model are you using? and did you have to do anything funky or was it a simple setup?
cheers
Will.
Hi Will,
as you should know, USB scanners are only supported with MPS 4.x.
RDP does not support this at all.
To get it running with ICA you’ll need a full Win32 client and install the TWAIN driver locally.
I heard from an internal Wyse source that they will release in the (very) near future a USB redirection for WTOS. This will enable you to attach any USB device to a WTOS unit and use it inside your session. Only limitation will be that it will only work in a VDI enviroment. (No ICA or Terminal Server).
ConfGen
Once again, thanks ConfGen, I should have provided more info I think.
We are running WTOS in a VDI environment and have been lucky enough to get our hands on the USB redirector rca_wnos file which works a treat for such things as usb drives and (some) pda’s and camera’s etc just not the scanners, I will be meeting up with our tech guy from WYSE in the not too distant future so will keep you posted on what he has to say
Thanks again for coming back to me 🙂
Will.
