How do I downgrade my Winterm S10 to earlier version?

    Hi,

    My company uses Winterm S10’s, and we have a custom application that uses ELO touchscreens, a barcode scanner, and a “serial to USB keyboard” converter.

    Everything but the “Serial to USB keyboard” converter is okay.

    What we’ve found is that 5.1.028f, 5.3.0_09f, and 5.1.0_47f all do not recognize it. However, 5.1.010f works fine with the converter. (I was briefly able to get 5.1.0_47f to recognize the converter as a hub, but it did not recognize the HID device on it.)

    Wyse only shows 5.1.028 and 5.1.047 on their public download support page. http://www.wyse.com/serviceandsupport/support/dlOraFW.asp?which=73&model=S10(Wyse%20Thin%20OS)

    Is there any way for us to copy 5.1.010f from the working client, and downgrade our other S10’s to match it? Or is there a way to get 5.1.010f from WYSE’s website?

    Thank you. Much appreciated. If my IS dept balks at a web-link, is a support agreement with WYSE the way to go? (i.e. is WYSE the kind of company who’ll give out old versions on request.)

    The newer S10’s won’t accept the firmware. Says “Firmware (5.1.0_10) is too old to ensure hardware compatibility.”

    I appreciate all the help.

    Let’s hope that parallel path solution of getting the Serial-to-USB developer to fix their firmware works… or we’ll be trying to find 8 vintage S10’s!
