    Down under in Australia we are trialling V10L’s using dual 17″ monitors – one using VGA and one DVI. However, we cannot get the digital monitors to do anything other than display a black screen.

    In the depths of the Wyse knowledge base there is an article stating that the V10L only supports non-HDCP digital monitors. Trouble is, I have yet to find a 17″ dual VGA/DVI monitor that is not HDCP.

    Has anyone else struck this issue?
    Is anyone aware of any 17″ monitors that will meet my needs? (Running 2x 19″ monitors takes up too much space).

    Hi,

    A few questions, I assume you are using the Wyse splitter cable? Do you have the DVI output plugged into the DVI input of the monitor or do you have the DVI to VGA converter on the end of the DVI cable? If so this will not work as it must be a DVI and VGA monitor not converted to to VGA,

    Cheers,
    -TT

    Thanks for input but:
    – I have tried connecting DVI both directly and via Wyse cable splitter;
    – I am not using the DVI to VGA converter

    so it is neither of those.

    I am waiting on Wyse to shed some light on the issue too.

    Wyse have advised that while their V10L product works with a number of 3rd party vendor monitors, there are certainly some DVI monitors which won’t work with the Thin OS on that device. These include Samsung & Dell monitors but also others. They have not (as yet) supplied a listing of those DVI monitors which do function with the V10L.

    As I do not have the funds to keep buying DVI monitors until I find one which actually works with the V10L as promised, I will be returning the Wyse device and moving to another thin client supplier whose product has no difficulty in doing what it says it will do.
