    Hello,

we use a FTP server in combination with wnos.ini for our Wyse S0 clients.
My question, ist there a possibilty to configure another FTP server to have a redundancy when the primary FTP server is down?
Maybe with DFS homedirectory for the FTP-Server? Any ideas?

    Best regards,

    Sarge

    Hi Sarge,

You can use a number in the 161 string tag like this:

    192.168.1.1,192.168.1.2

Or simple use wnos.ini and enter:

    fileserver=192.168.1.1,192.168.1.2

Better yet, once the settings in the wnos.ini are correct use the Enablelocal=yes and localcopy=1.

This saves most of the settings locally in the device and removes the ftp server as a single point of failure! (you lose the wallpaper etc but no big deal there)

    hello thinkthin,

good idea, I’ll try it. But does it works also with multiple FTP-servers?

    regards,

    Hi,

    Yep it works fine!

As a matter of interest I have been playing with the 5.2 code and pointing it to a hhtp/https server (web) and putting the file in the web server works as well!!!! This is very cool as a Citrix CSG server can host the wnos.ini file as well without ftp, better yet I used an existing hardware load balancer.

I don’t think its a supported config but it works!

    Cheers,
