Hello again,
Now that I’ve configured the network so that the xeniths now pull the xen.ini, I want to do two things:
–update all the Xeniths to 1.7 (they’re a mix of 1.5 and 1.0s); I have downloaded the firmware from the wyse support site already.
–change the background picture on all the xeniths when they first log in.Any advice on how to do both of these?
27. March 2012 at 16:20 #22012Place your picture file in the bitmap folder.
Define the picture file desktop=mypicture.jpg in the Xen.ini file
replace you C00_xen firmware file with the latest version in the WNOS folder
Define the AutoLoad=2 in your Xen.ini file
This should upgrade your firmware and define a new background picture.

I got the background to work immediately.
I set the autoupdate=2 but the update didn’t happen. Attached is a capture of the WNOS folder; should the files be somewhere else?

The following is the xen.ini on the network:; AMRESCO Xen.ini
autoload=2

DomainList="amresco-inc.com"
IEEE8021X=yes network=wireless access=WPA2-PSK wpa2pskpwdEnc=PCGGLBCHMOAOJOGIIMEKNMENNKBKMMDK encryption=CCMP
Device=Wireless Mode=Infrastructure SSID=amresco Algorithm=SharedKey
SessionConfig=all mapdisks=no WyseVDA=yes VUSB_DISKS=yes VUSB_AUDIO=yes VUSB_VIDEO=yes VUSB_PRINTER=yes DefaultColor=2
Thanks for your help by the way.
27. March 2012 at 18:58 #22015So I’ve done some troubleshooting, and the event log says that it is checking the software at http:/wnos/C00_xen
I created a folder in the /wyse/wnos named C00_xen, added the image files to that folder, and still it does not update.28. March 2012 at 20:13 #22020Fixed it by calling WYSE support. Turns out the I made a folder called C00_xen and what I should have done was just take the C00_xen file that came with the 1.7 firmware zip and put that in the wnos folder. All the xeniths are updating like a charm.
