    Hi

    I’m fairly new to wyse and thin computing so be gentle on me!

    I have some S10’s to set up and have managed so far to get the wnos.ini configured and read by the devices via the 161 dhcp tag. I am trying to get a desktop image and also an icon for rdp but the bitmap folder is not being read as these components do not get deployed. I can change the background colour and that pushes out fine – what am I dong wrong?

    wnos sample

    Resolution=1280×1024 Refresh=75
    DeskColor=”0 78 152″
    Desktop=wyse.bmp

    ftp path

    C:Inetpubftprootrapportwysewnosbitmap

    wnos.ini is under ‘wnos’ and wyse.bmp is under ‘bitmap’

    Thanks in advance for your help

    Hi Tanya and Welcome!

    I have to say its sounds like you have it setup correctly if you can deploy a colour change. Try editing the bitmaps in paint and saving them again. I used photoshop once and they did not work. If you use one of the sample configurations from this site to these pictures work?

    Its a weird one, also note you can use .JPG and GIF as well but save them in paint. If you want to go crazy I saw a formURL= pointing to an animated .GIFF file πŸ™‚

    Cheers,
    -TT

    Thanks TT

    I’ll give that a try later today and see if it works….I did try one of the sample ones and it did not work, but I’ll try re-saving in Paint and see what happens.

    Cheers

    Wow, the sample one did not work either – now that is strange.

    If you look in the system log on the terminal are there any error messages near the end on the log?

    Ok TT will have a check. I’ve got another project that has taken priority at the moment, so will post back here when I get a chance to test again.

    Thanks

    I tried again with the sample config and that worked this time…so I have just edited the wnos.ini to suit my setup and all seems fine now.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi everyone.
    I know this is an old thread, but I am trying to use a custom desktop background, and can not get it to work.

    I am currently running Thin OS 6.5.0_30. It is running on a V10L. I have pasted my wnos.ini. I have the images in the correct folder.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Inetpubftprootrapportnursestation-V10L-Testbitmap
    (I use several different images throughout the environment)

    and

    InetpubftprootrapportWysebitmap

    And when you check locally on the client, what is the value for Fileserver?

    Then change the folder structure from
    Inetpubftprootrapportnursestation-V10L-Testbitmap
    to
    Inetpubftprootrapportnursestation-V10L-Testwnosbitmap

    Success!
    Adding the bitmap folder to the wnos folder did the trick.

    Thanks for your time, I truly appreciate it.
