    There are a few applications I need to install on a number of Wyse D&Z Class devices mostly remote and would like to schedule them to occur after hours but due to the default ram disk size the installation fails so I would have to manually go to each disable the write filter bump up the ramdisk and than push the package but instead I was hoping there may be a reg key or command I could run before and after to modify the ramdisk making it automated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

    this is possible but will need one additional reboot.
    Create a rsp script like this:

    [Version]
    Number=SetRAMdisk
    Description=Change the size of the RAMdisk
    OS=WES7
    Category=Other Packages

    [Script]

    ;This package is for use on Wyse WES7 builds only.
    ;It will fail on other builds.
    ;
    ;————————————————————————–
    ; Check Operating System, Check SP level and Confirm free space
    ;————————————————————————–
    CO “WES7″

    ;————————————————————————–
    ; Lockout
    ;————————————————————————–
    LU
    ;———————————————————————–
    ; Set Ramdisk size to 190 MB and reboot
    ;———————————————————————-
    MR “\reg\SetRamdisk.reg”
    EL
    RB

    The reg file could look like this:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\WyseRamdisk\Parameters]
    “DiskSize”=dword:0c800000

    0x0c800000 will raise the ramdisk to about 200MB.

    I will give that a try, thank you for the quick response. I will let you know whether that works or not.

    Thanks,

    Good news, I was able to modify the rsp for my application install adding the MR command & RB before the application installs along with a reg file to increase the ramdisk and afterwards I put in the MR command with a reg to decrease the ramdisk and it worked successfully as hoped. Thanks again for your assistance and quick reply ConfGen.
