I was again trying to get a USB CD/DVD Rom device working within our environment but without any luck.

The reason why i was testing it again is because i was bumped into this in the patch notes : “Redirecting of USB DVD-ROM drives (read-only) through standard ICA/RDP drive mapping”

So i was wondering if anyone got it up and running ? We got a Plextor PX-810UF CD/DVD Rom but maybe it’s just not supported or listed in the peripheral lists.

Ohhh we use the option MapdisksUnderZ=yes for our ica connection and firmware 6.5.0.30

Can you try without the MapDiskUnderZ parameter?

Didn’t worked, think it’s a hardware compatible issue so i will see if i can my hands on a compatible drive (they are not very expensive so it’s ok 🙂 ).

I will update my topic once i get some more info. Anyone got some info/tips regarding compatible external dvd/cd drives ?

Just a update (after a tip from a friend) i bought a new external usb cd/dvd rom and it finally got it working.

The working external CD/DVD Rom is a “LG GP08NU10” (Google for it for more details) and i got it working on a C10LE and S10/V10L all with firmware 6.5.0.30, CD or DVD both is not a problem.

EDIT: LG GP08NU20 is also working fine.

Hello – I have two follow up questions to this thread as we are looking at using a external cd/dvd drive as well.

    1. With version WTOS 7.0 out do we know if any more external drives have been confirmed to work?

    2. Secondly is there enough USB power in the device to connect a usb-powered external device?

    Thanks

    1. No
    2. It depends on the device. A Blackberry fails but a CDRom works fine.
