Is it possible to hardcode the password for the remote shadow functionality in the WDM console so as to avoid having to share it with the support users or to avoid having to type it in everytime?

We ( as in where I work) unfortunately have a history of leaked passwords, and it’s only a matter of time before someone realize that they don’t need access to the WDM console to remotely shadow the thin clients using VNC.

The issue here isn’t the security, we’ve set the appropriate settings to force a remote shadow approval, we’re more concerned about losing control of this tool and streamlining the access.

    Thanks

No, the password is always set on the client device. No chance to save or set it in the WDM console.

That’s too bad. I don’t see why you couldn’t also save it encrypted in a WDM config file so that you wouldn’t have to type it in every single time. The WDM already passes on the connection info to the vncviewer executable…
Alright, guess I’ll try my chances submitting an enhancement request…

    Thanks for the reply Jedi!
