Hey guys,
I’m having a real difficult time trying to figure this one out. For some reason my devices are not consistently registering themselves with the DNS server. Every time I login or reboot the device, I lose connectivity to the domain. Only after I execute an ipconfig /registerdns command can I regain domain connectivity. I don’t want to have to be doing this every time of course. Anyone have any ideas?
I’ve checked the DNS entries themselves. The server doesn’t have any problems registering the client. I’ve scavenged stale resource records, cleared the cache (on both client and server), and have even tried to manually create a DNS entry for the client. For some reason, the device still could not communicate with the domain without manually registering the DNS settings.
I’ve also confirmed that the client’s DNS setting is set to automatically register itself with the DNS server.
