We’ve experiencing a strange issue with our new Wyse C10 clients with WTOS 7.0.0_30. The users connect to their Citrix Desktop as usual, but when beeing idle for 5-40 minutes the following message appear:
    Connection Timed Out

Checking the Event Log afterwards the following is logged:
    ICA: pdu_recv: read:51

As I’ve worked with Wyse for some time now, I know that problems solved in earlier realeses tend to reapear in newer ones; This time its the session reliability.

Does anyone know if this bug is known to wyse and if its solved in newer releases?

I have heard about such issue with WTOS 7 also. Some customer also have seen a red X on the display and the session hung at that point.
I know that Wyse is urgently working on this issue. So, let’s keep the fingers cross that it is solved soon.

Thats what I thought, but I was hoping they’d have a fix now 😕
If you hear something new, would you mind updating this tread?

Btw. the fix for us right now would be enabling session reliability on our clients. (we do have support for this on our backend systems allready)

Have you already tried firmware 7.0.1_13 to see of that one works better?

You can download it via Wyse support site….(otherwise ask your Wyse contact/sysadmin)

By the way we have also issue with disconnects it gets worse if I set SessionRealability ON in the wnos.ini
(we use still firmware 6.xxx , we work for the government I need 200 people to sign my RFC before I can roll it out 🙁 )

We are going to try turning it OFF in our FarmSettings to see if it gets better.

All topics on Internet that I could find with “wyse ica disconnects” were about setting SessionRealability OFF…

    Hi,

We are experiencing the same disconnect issues with the C10LE’s but only from a particular remote site.
Appears to happen if the user is running something graphic intensive like flash or video playback.
We had no problems for years with this site previously but we just upgraded the Switch (now with 1Gb ports) and placed a VoIP phone system in there. The C10LE’s are connecting to the network via the phone (switch port to phone, phone port to Wyse).
We have tried bypassing the phone which has reduced the disconnects but they still occur.
We have session reliability enabled on our XenApp 5 farm but we do not have it enabled on the wnos.ini. By not enabling it in the wnos.ini does that mean it is disabled for these devices?

    Our FW is 7.0.0_34

    Thanks.

By default Session Reliability is disabled on WTOS devices.
Any chance to upgrade to latest firmware 7.0.217?

We resolved this be changing some priority queues on the switch ports. We also prioritised ICA traffic on our Bluecoat Packateers.

We are testing Citrix Branch Repeaters and the combination of these and the packateers was causing the disconnections.

I do have that new firmware. Is there anything it will give me over 7.0.0_34?

Also trying to get a copy of 7.1 beta which contains some nice updates for Citrix HDX.

217 will give you a lot of fixes for freezing sessions.
