Wyse provided us with Thin OS 6.0 to test it for our Wyse S10. So far so good but we got complains about wussy/crappy/buggy screen errors when scrolling with the mouse using MS Excel for example
In the begin i thought it could happen, but today i got the same complains like 3 users and i could reproduce it by myself. After some test i found all users who are complainig about errors on there screen are using Thin OS 6.0.
so i downgraded there S10 back to Thin OS 5.2 and all was fine and no errors on the screen. Is this an know issue ? And anyone can tell me if Thin OS 6.1 (maybe 6.2 🙂 ) has been released already ?
16. January 2008 at 16:42 #11372Hi aLie,
6.1 is released. Build number is 6.1.005.
Can you outline the steps to reproduce your issue?CG
16. January 2008 at 19:47 #11375Hi,
I have seen this before on some builds of WTOS 6x but only under particular conditions.
What build had the issue? Also were you using the DVI output only at a high resolution?
Cheers,
-TT18. January 2008 at 15:34 #11391Sorry for the late replay on my post, work just keeps me bussy.
I thought to make a printscreen but this didn’t worked because the error is not inside windows and so there is no error in the screendump. So i took my mobile and made a picture
Remember this only happends when you scroll up and down, i took Excel for test.
I took a look at my builld and this is 6.0.0.22 using just a standard VGA cable at 1280×1024
18. January 2008 at 15:54 #11392Try to outline a bit more what you are doing to reproduce the issue.
What Office version are you using?CG
21. January 2008 at 15:12 #11408I reported my problem and got today an email from Wyse with firmware 6.0.0.26f and my problem seams to be solved.
So yes i think it’s a bug in 6.0.0.22, anyhow i orderd firmware 6.1 and now i’m waiting for it 🙂
12. February 2008 at 10:27 #11683We are using S10 clients to and we also have troubles using 6.0 up to the last available 6.1.05 firmware.
Seamless PN.ica windows in Office 2003 are dropping down to the taskbar or dropping back behind other opend applications.
For example when using Outlook creating a new message adding an mail adres from our companys adresbook while clickin on OK the newly created email drops down to the taskbar and our desktop’s displaying the mailbox again. In word or excel when i open an document via the open as screen, the apllication jumps to the back of our desktop behind an other already opend apllication, for example Outlook.
I’ve have seen this kind of behaviour in the early 10.* buggy versions of the win32.ica version on our winxp desktops aswell.
We decide to downgrade our S10 clients to the 5.30_19f version for now.12. February 2008 at 23:24 #11687Good info deef71,
I had this same issue yesterday with a different application on 5.3.020, I will try going back to build 19 and see if it resolves it,
Cheers,

I’ve got theese problems with all devices using FW 5.2.0_39 to x_60 and 5.3_09 too.
Yesterday wyse sent me the 6.0.0.26 and it fixed two other problems with the buggy screen, but the dropping window still exists.
@thinkthin – Did you already downgrade to the build 19 and did this solve the problems?14. February 2008 at 9:29 #11704Hi,
Actually I went back to a early 5.3 build and the issue went away so I still have not worked out where the problem started,
Cheers,

We are using 6.0.0.28 and everything is working fine here including the timeserver fix (i did post about this on the forum, the reason why we are using 6.0.0.28 ).
19. February 2008 at 11:16 #11766Thanks for posting, I will give that build a try…
🙂
5. March 2008 at 8:37 #11994On a client using version 5.3.18 the problem also occured. Havent seen it yet on 5.3.19F
5. March 2008 at 14:15 #12005version 5.3.19F is randomly dropping screens tot the taskbar also especially when you try to push buttons in Outlook and Excel 2003.
10. March 2008 at 14:07 #12078We are currently testing a fixed demobuild 6.1.0_09 and it looks like this one fixed the dropping screens bug.
I’ll will keep you informed during our testing period this week if there are any changes. -
