We are testing some C50LE units for a kiosk deployment. At the moment when they are plugged in they do not automatically power on and require the power button to be pressed to turn on (a reasonable default).

Is there a setting somewhere that can have them automatically turn on when power is plugged in? I did not see anything but I am new to these units so I may have missed something.

Since we are planning to deploy at many remote locations in secure kiosk enclosures we’d like to ensure they will power on automatically in the case of a brownout or anything else that might cycle the power availability.

    Thanks for any input.

Okay, I found it. I didn’t realize that these thin clients have BIOS settings similar to a regular PC and found it there.

To access this on the C50LE, hold the DELETE key on the keyboard at boot and you should be put into the BIOS. The default BIOS password is “Fireport” (case sensitive). From there go to Power Management and select the Always On mode. Save and exit.

    Just what I needed.
