Admin Mode Encryption

    Hello!

    I need to know what type of encryption is used when ConfGen’s encrypt button is checked when setting admin mode passwords.

    Also, how is this password stored in NVRAM? If I lock down a thin client and then disconnect it, is that password stored in an encrypted format?

    Hi Eric,

    it is a DES encryption and everything is stored locally encrypted even if disconnected.
    Why do you need to know? Are you look ing for a way to hack it? 😉

    Haha, no. I like these things too much 🙂

    I just need to prove to the higher ups that these things are as secure as they sound…
