    Hi Guys,
We have recently purchased a T50 as a test client for our customers move to a full RDP solution, and so far we’ve found it great.

The only problem I’m having is that I am unable to log in to the Wyse device using any AD credentials. When I enter the clients domain in to the domain box, and then try to login with an AD username, I instantly get “Authentication failed”. I have tried reading around to find a solution, but the only other mention of this I could find was to do with “Pass-Through Authentication” which seemed to be aimed at more of a Citrix system rather than an RDP one.

Any help on this would be really appreciated!

What do you want to achieve? Typically the login dialog is used to authenticate against any kind of broker but not AD. This is not Windows 😉

Okay so what is the deal with the “Domain” box?

The simplest way to put it is; I want to be able to authorise people against AD. If I have to go through a broker to do it, fine, but I can’t find any documentation online that details it in a simple manner 🙂

You can create a RDP connection to that broker, configure it as autostart and additionally configure the T50 to do an autologin.
But to be very honest, I would recommend to use a T10 or better T10D for that purpose.

Okay so if I am able to get them to automatically login as thinuser/thinuser, how do I then get it to auto start a connection broker? The only options I have to configure are to use a rd gateway, is there a separate command I can manually add to the .ini to get it to use a connection broker instead?

Have you tried to configure the broker in the System Settings – RDP Settings?

BTW, Dell has release an updated firmware for the T50 – version 1.041.

Unfortunately if you just RDP directly to the connection broker, you get in to the connection broker, which is working as intended, it’s designed to be used in conjuction to another RDP session. This is where I get confused; as either the T50 is not designed to be used with a connection broker, and specifically requires an RDGateway, or it is, but it’s hidden away someone with little to no documentation!

Have you had any personal experience with one of the other devices you mentioned? Would they be able to achieve what I’m looking for? If so, I’m happy to swap devices.

Yes, ThinOS can do all that. Perfect match.

Okay, I think I’ll give that go instead then – thank you very much for your help 🙂

If you like the T50 and you will love the T10 or T10D.
Consider using the T10D which is a lot better than T10 in many cases (performance, management).
Or even D10D if you plan to use Flash Redirection or Lync in the future.
