It seems that we’re seeing a random issue, where 5010s are displaying this error when connected to Dell P2417H monitors. I THINK it’s related to upgrading to firmware 8.6_206, but, not positive yet. Has anyone come across this?
Today our techs have to fix it manually, by changing the frame buffer settings in the BIOS.
You are using that displayed resolution and refresh rate?

We don’t force a resolution through WMS, and as far as I’m aware, the deployment team doesn’t change anything on the monitors. Whatever it’s set to out of the box.
In the end though I think we found the issue. A lot of our 5010s were deployed years ago with a VGA to DVI adapter. Upgrading from 8.5_017 to 8.6_206 in our WMS migrations seems to have triggered an issue with those. When they switch to just go straight display port end to end, the issue is resolved.
So they’re replacing cables.
