Firstly, thank you all for such a great site. We are just moving into using thin clients, and the information and tools on here has been immensely useful.
OK, I’m not sure if what I want to do is even possible, but it would be great if it is.
We’re using 1200LEs in a school environment with Windows Server 2003 Terminal Services, and we want to have them so that students should not need to use the power buttons manually (the clients are mounted to the back of the LCDs).
To this end, we want them to indefinitely maintain a connection to the terminal server (ie; when they disconnect to either reconnect or reboot automatically), and to remain at the login prompt indefinitely (currently they time out after 5 minutes or so). Currently when the connection ends, it just drops back to the WTOS desktop. I suppose if I could get the first one (reconnecting automatically) working, the second would be less important (they would simply reconnect after timing out).
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. If there’s any further information I can provide, I’d be happy to. 🙂
that sounds simple. Do you already use a wnos.ini file? If yes, configure the RDP session along with the parameter: Reconnect=yes
The 5 minutes timeout is a MS Terminal Server thing and I do not know which registry key (if ever) you use to alter this.
