Hi,

You will need to put the DHCP forwarder or IP helper only on the interface connected to the the Layer 3 transition.

So, I ran Nortell 5510’s on a remote site’s with Cisco 2650’s and 1720’s. Each remote site was one flat network until the traffic hit the Cisco router, there I put a IP helper. No config was made on the Nortels.

If the nortels were being used to create VLAN’s I would have had to create a DHCP forwarder there and not on the router.

To trouble shoot its best to simply mirror a port and do some ethereal captures to see whats blocking the traffic.

What does your network look like compared to my old one? What is the command on the routers and the switches?

Cheers,
