This article is for those considering maximising there server based computing investment by deploying thin clients. It focuses on the issues to consider when selecting thin clients.

It happened to me in 2000. The organisation I was with moved from a fully managed PC environment to a managed application environment using Citrix Metaframe. Initially I pushed back on the idea, I had spent a lot of time and effort on building the ZENworks environment we had and quite frankly it worked!

Well of course as my knowledge of the product increased the benefits became obvious, to highlight the fact the business I was with went and acquired two new companies that were interstate within the one twelve month period. The whole lot was managed from one site with no additional IT staff and implemented in the same time frame it would have taken me just to workout where to put the ZEN servers.
