So I have been forced to put our new r90l7 devices on our domain for a few reasons. The thing that I am concerned about is dealing with the device password being reset in AD and then users not being able to log into the device. Does anyone know of a script that can be used to reset the device pw before it tries to do it automatically? Any assistance is much appreciated
FYI - I'm aware of the KB article, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/154501, to disable the password reset but would like to know if anyone has an alternative that's more secure.
Update - So I just successfully ran a netdom resetpwd command to manually reset the device password with the write filter turned on, rebooted the device, and was able to log in using domain credentials without any issues. Not exactly what I was expecting. So I guess this is something that I won't need to worry about? If anyone has any experience with WES7 being on the domain and running into the topic question I posted please let me know.
Whithout having read the KB article above, I am aware of two methods. One is disable the password change on the domain controller site which is typically nothing I would do.
Second is to disable it on the client site. This is, AFAIK, already done in the Wyse images.
And your test seems to prove this.
